Seven-Character Regulated Verse ·After Snow

    雾锁寒江曳影空，

Mist veils the cold river, shadows sway in void,

    渔蓑沙际立孤鸿。

A lone heron stands by the bank, in fisher’s cloak deployed.

    胡风卷地埋幽径，

Northern winds sweep the land, burying paths unseen,

    朔雪连山压碧穹。

Endless snow crowns the hills, pressing the azure dome serene.

    远渚灯昏分野岸，

Dim lamps on distant isles divide the shores afar,

    深窗墨淡寄诗筒。

Dark ink by deep windows seeks verse in a poetic jar.

    恐迷岁晚林塘月，

Lest I lose the woodland pond in year’s end moonlight clear,

    凤迹霞开日照融。

Phoenix traces glow in sunrise, melting clouds bright and sheer.
