Sevenfold Rhyme· Yellowed Skies and Aging Days
By Mu Feng
From vast wilds winds ceaselessly rise by day and night,
Where unseen clouds merge with the heavens' yellowed light.
Long-gathered warmth now chills to water’s icy form,
New-dried by sunlight, dew becomes frost crisp and white.
In native land, deep autumn hastens aging years,
While in strange fields, late chrysanthemums smell most bright.
Ascending heights, I feel the mortal world grows small,
Alone, by riverside pavilion, to my shadow I call.
