Composed following the rhyme of Du Fu's "Revisiting the Zheng Family's Eastern Pavilion"

    翠色隐幽微，

Emerald shades veil secrets deep,

    秋光溢素晖。

Autumn light spills in pale glow.

    溪声喧永夜，

Pine sounds clamor through the night long,

    岚气湿人衣。

Mist-laden air dampens robes along.

    野鹿穿云过，

Wild deer pierce through clouds in flight,

    山禽带雨归。

Mountain birds return with twilight.

    悠然尘世外，

Serene, beyond the mortal sphere,

    吟袖逐风飞。

My chanting sleeves chase winds in flight.

Du Fu's Original Poem: Revisiting the Zheng Family's Eastern Pavilion

    华亭入翠微，

The fine pavilion deep in emerald shade ,

    秋日乱清晖。

The autumn light riots in clear radiance.

    崩石攲山树，

Cracked rocks slant over mountain trees,

    清涟曳水衣。

Clear ripples tug at the water’s gown.

    紫鳞冲岸跃，

Purple-scaled fish leap shoreward,

    苍隼护巢归。

The blue-gray falcon guards its nest, homing.

    向晚寻征路，

At dusk, I seek the onward road ,

    残云傍马飞。

Last clouds linger where my horse is roaming.
